On arrival at the Ednburgh Airport you will be met by PerryGolf personnel who will assist you with your luggage and transfer to your transportation.

Play today at North Berwick . Like St Andrews, this links starts and finishes in town. Golf was played in the area since at least 1672 but the club was formed in 1832 making it the thirteenth oldest in the game. It came to be in the same way as so many of the early clubs -- in stages. First it was a 6-hole layout, then a 7, then a 10 which included the famous Redan hole, then in 1877 a full 18. A renovation lengthened the course in 1895 then again in 1932. The course is a delight for many reasons not the least of which is how you are challenged by stonewalls, deep bunkers, the usual humps, hollows and burns without having to fight brutal rough. The course is normally set up to play in around 3 hours so the rough is kept playable.

Day 3 Gullane No.1

Play Gullane #1 , a frequent host to important national championships and regularly rated alongside Scotland's more famous courses, Gullane No. 1 is unusually hilly for an east of Scotland links thanks to Gullane Hill. Once you reach the 7th tee and the 200-foot summit, you have spectacular views in every direction including Edinburgh over the Firth of Forth. The designer remains unknown, but you will immediately recognize a classic links with pot bunkers, fast running fairways and smooth greens courtesy of some of the most exquisite, year-round turf in Scotland. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

Day 4 Muirfield

Golf today on Muirfield, 18 holes , home to The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, is among the most treasured in the game. Formed in 1744, is the world’s oldest documented golf club. It is where the original Rules of Golf were written. It has hosted The Open on more than a dozen occasions. Old Tom Morris redesigned it in 1891 as a 16-hole layout followed by the addition of two more holes several months later. In 1928, Harry S. Colt and Tim Simpson made alterations that are credited with making this the masterpiece is it today. Most courses of the day were routed nine holes out and nine back. Not Muirfield. Its outward nine runs clockwise around the perimeter of the property while the inward nine runs counter-clockwise inside the outward. This utterly unique layout produces play into constantly changing wind conditions.

Day 5 Prestwick Marine Troon

Play today at Prestwick . Only the Old Course has hosted The Open more often than Prestwick, the last of 24 played here was in 1925. Eleven of the first twelve Opens were played on Old Tom Morris’ twelve-hole layout beginning in 1860. Six holes were added in 1883. One of the club’s great strengths is variety. There are blind shots. Uphill holes and those that play downhill and sidehill. Greens in hollows and plateau greens. Driveable par fours and those you’ll be delighted to reach in two. Perhaps most famous is “Alps” the 394-yard 17th. The narrow fairway runs straight up a steep sandhill which hides a generous green guarded in front by the notorious “Sahara” bunker framed with revetted sod and railroad ties interrupted only by wooden steps to allow you in and out.

Day 6 Royal Troon

Play Royal Troon . Royal Troon is a course in the current Open rota. Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Tom Weiskopf (his only win in a major) have won here as did Henrik Stenson whose Sunday round of 63 outlasted Phil Mickelson’s 65 to claim The 145th Open. It is a long links course but it is consistently praised for its testing but fair set up. Troon boasts both the longest and the shortest holes among Open venues, being the “Postage Stamp” 8th at 126 yards, and the 6th at 601 yards named “Turnberry”. The layout gives you a chance to find your game with a gentle opening but the inward nine is considered one of the most difficult sides in major championship golf.

Day 7 Trump Turnberry - Ailsa Course

Play the Ailsa Course at Turnberry. You can’t rush perfection, Turnberry’s Ailsa Course is proof. It was established in 1902, modified in 1906, modified again in 1909, redesigned in 1938 then nearly disappeared after the Second World War when it was converted into an airbase with several holes flattened into concrete runways. It was restored and reopened in 1951 as one of Scotland’s finest links to the extent it hosted The Open for the first time in 1977 when Tom Watson’s 65-65 weekend beat Jack Nicklaus’ 65-66. MacKenzie & Ebert made extensive alterations before The Open in 2009 then Ebert returned for a major update in 2015. The result is spectacular, particularly but by no means limited to holes 9-11 that play across and along the bay atop rock outcrops on the left; dunes, pot bunkers and high fescue on the right. The club’s famous lighthouse includes an incredible two-bedroom suite and one of the most memorable halfway houses in golf.

How far in advance should I book a trip to ensure best availability?

Our best advice is to decide on your preferred trip and confirm the dates as soon as possible, for everything is a component of availability. If you are traveling during high season, the golf courses can have significant demand and sooner we are able to submit your groups request for tee times and similarly to the hotels, the likelihood of securing your exact, preferred schedule is enhanced.
What is the optimum size of a group?

Every group has different dynamics but we believe that groups of 8 travelers are more preferred, for two reasons; (1) a group of 8 people remains small enough that everyone can interact with each other easily and (2) in terms of access to golf tee times and hotel arrangements we have found this size of group to be the easiest to accommodate. Of course, we are delighted to assist with groups of 2 to 150 travelers.
When is the best time to travel?
It varies by destination. High season (for golf) is as follows;
- Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, France & Italy
  April – October.
  During the summer season you will enjoy the best possible chance of good weather. However Britain does experience changeable, unpredictable weather year round and it is therefore best to anticipate.
- New Zealand & Australia
  September – April
  Peak season is December - February/March
- Spain, Portugal & South Africa
  January - December
  South Africa is attractive all year round. Many prefer to visit from October - March. The summer months in the south of Spain and Portugal can be very hot and the condition of the courses deteriorates. Therefore the peak seasons in Spain and Portugal would be April – June & September – November.
